Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
WalkMyPlan is a floor-plan viewer SaaS. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and how you can delete it.
What we collect
- Uploaded drawing files, the derived 2D and 3D models we create from them, and internal evaluation copies, labels, or measurements used to test and improve plan reading.
- Your account name and email address when you sign in with Google or Facebook, or your email address and password when you create an account with email (we store only a secure hash of the password).
- Support emails and any files or screenshots you choose to send us.
- Diagnostic and activity logs - the actions you take (upload, build, delete, send), the date, your account or IP address, and technical details of any failures - which we use to operate the service, fix errors, and improve extraction quality. Edit-history logs also record the content of each edit you make - for example a wall's position, a room name, or text you place - so that your work can be reconstructed for you after a failure. Your uploaded drawing files themselves are never copied into these logs.
- Product analytics. We use PostHog to see which pages are used and where people stop - for example how many people who see a pricing dialog go on to check out. It receives page paths with plan identifiers removed, the names of a fixed list of product actions (for example: pricing dialog opened, checkout started or returned, PDF downloaded, link shared, realistic image or video created, sketch pad used - the name of the action only, never its contents), technical browser and session details, and, after sign-in, your internal account number - never your name or email. It does not receive text you type, plan contents, drawings, images, error messages, addresses of other sites you came from, or anything after the page path. Screen recording is off. You can turn analytics off at any time: - the setting is kept in this browser. Signed-in users also find this switch in their account card ("Usage analytics").
How we use uploaded plans
We use uploaded plans to render and store your project, operate and secure the service, investigate failed or inaccurate conversions, and test, evaluate, train, and improve WalkMyPlan's plan-reading technology, including artificial-intelligence and machine-learning models. This can involve automated analysis and limited manual review by authorized personnel. We may reprocess a plan after an improvement and send a service message to the email address connected to your account or support request so you can see the corrected result.
We do not sell or rent your plan, license it as a drawing or dataset, use it to develop products unrelated to WalkMyPlan, or allow our service providers to use it to train their own models. Brief, de-identified excerpts of plans and generated models may appear in WalkMyPlan's own product demonstrations, tutorials, and promotional material - names, addresses, and title-block details removed, never the original file itself - and you can opt your plans out at any time via support@walkmyplan.com. Beyond that, we do not use your plan in advertising.
Storage and retention
Your files and generated models are stored on our servers. Restricted internal evaluation copies may be stored in our development systems while needed to test and improve plan reading. Guest projects automatically delete from the user-facing service after 30 days. Plans saved to an account are kept there until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Contact us to remove an identifiable plan from future evaluation or improvement use.
Sharing
We never sell your data. Share links you create are accessible to anyone who has the link. Infrastructure and other service providers may process data only for us and under our instructions; we do not permit them to use plan files for their own model training. To recognise what each room is for, the room names in your plans (for example "KITCHEN"), whether read from an uploaded drawing, typed by you, or given through your AI assistant, may be sent to TypeSafe, a text-classification service; it receives only those names, never the drawing, images or account details, and does not train models on them. Payment processing is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which receives the information needed to process your purchase. Email sent to our support address is an exception: it is forwarded to, read and answered from Google's Gmail, and we use an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude) to help read those emails and draft replies, both under Google's and Anthropic's own standard terms rather than under our instructions.
AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude)
You can connect WalkMyPlan to an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude. You sign in to WalkMyPlan and approve the connection; the assistant then holds a connection key that acts for your account until the connection is removed.
- What the assistant can read: your plans and buildings and their details - rooms, walls, doors and windows, furniture, measurements, revision history and sharing settings - and their plan links, PDFs, realistic images and video links.
- What it can change: what you can do yourself in WalkMyPlan - create plans (from an upload link or a drawing's web address), edit and furnish them, rename or duplicate them, undo edits or restore an earlier revision, delete a plan, and change who can see a plan, including inviting people by email or turning on link sharing. It acts on your requests in the chat.
- What we receive and keep: the requests the assistant sends us - for example the edit to make, a plan name, or a question about a plan - which we handle like the same action on the website (see the logs described above). We also record which tool was used, when, for which account, and whether it failed. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, only these requests. If you ask the assistant to report a problem with a plan, your report is stored in our feedback log and may send one notification email to our team.
- The assistant's provider: your chat, including what WalkMyPlan returns to the assistant (plan details, images and links), is processed by the assistant's provider - for example OpenAI for ChatGPT or Anthropic for Claude - under that provider's own privacy policy and your settings there, not under this policy.
- Disconnecting: remove WalkMyPlan from your assistant's connected apps or connectors and it stops using the connection. To also cancel the connection on our side, email us from your account address and we will revoke every connection key for your account; deleting your account ends them as well.
International transfers
When a service provider that works for us under a data processing agreement processes personal data outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, for UK data, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, which are part of that agreement. The support-email services above (Gmail and Claude) are used under Google's and Anthropic's standard terms, not under a data processing agreement with us, and process email in the United States.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie for sign-in. It keeps you logged in and is not used for advertising. Product analytics (above) stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie; turning analytics off stops it. If you choose a language, your browser remembers that choice, in its local storage, so the site opens in that language next time; it is not a cookie. When a page loads we also record which language it was shown in, with your account number if you are signed in, so we know which translations people use; turning analytics off stops this too. If you start connecting an AI assistant and create your account along the way, your browser also keeps that connection step in its local storage for up to an hour, so you can continue it; it is removed once you are back at the connection screen or continue from our site.
Children
WalkMyPlan is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, or under the older age that applies where they live. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can access and delete plans from My plans. You may opt out of future testing and AI-improvement use for an identifiable plan, or ask us to remove it from active internal evaluation sets, by emailing us with the project link. To delete your account and all associated plans, email us from the account address. We will use reasonable steps to verify and complete the request. A request does not undo aggregated or de-identified measurements, extraction rules, or model improvements already produced when they cannot reasonably identify you or reproduce your plan.
